Police in Willard are looking for three men who they say committed assault and robbery at a Box Elder County gas station earlier this week.
The Willard City Police Department is seeking the help of the public as they work to gather information on a robbery and scam case that occurred Tuesday, April 16 at 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Flying J Travel Center at 600 W. 750 North in Willard, just off of I-15 exit 357.
It was reported to officers that the suspects will approach people and state that they had just won the lottery. The suspects will then ask how much money a person has with them and tell them they will double the money. The suspects will also state that they will give the people they approach $200.
"Once you pull out your money one person will count the money and the other person will assault you," WCPD wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday. "The individuals will then take off with your money.
In the incident at the Flying J station, the suspects were driving a white truck camper with the words "Arctic Fox" written in a cursive font on both sides of the camper portion.
"We would like to warn the public when they are at gas stations to please be cautious of scammer in the parking lot area, and to report anything suspicious to Box Elder Communications Center," the post reads.
Anyone who has information or observed the vehicles or individuals is encouraged to contact the Willard City Police Department through dispatch at (435) 723-6890.
