Douglas E. Coombs Jr. July 21, 1963 - September 3, 2023 Douglas E. Coombs Jr. died in an accident in Paris, France, where he was living, on September 3, 2023. He was born on July 21, 1963 in Logan, Utah, the son of Douglas E. and Marlene Coombs. Doug spent his early years in Garland, Utah. During his high school years at Bear River High, he honed his game of Hearts with a great group of friends. He served a mission in Santiago, Chile for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Doug was never defined by his work but he was skilled, resourceful and happiest when he was his own boss. We will all remember Doug for his strong opinions, his humor and his big belly laugh. He encouraged his nieces and nephews to be adventurous and free thinkers.
He met Veronique Bevali through mutual friends while living in Arizona. They surrounded themselves with families from around the world. Vero introduced Doug to the language, culture and art of her native France. Doug was the best Paris tour guide ever to his sisters and their families.
He is survived by his partner, Veronique, his mother, Marlene Coombs, his sisters and their spouses, Julie (David) Stender and Suzette (Greg) Reid, nephews and nieces, and former spouse, Jennifer Olsen.
