The defending state champion Bear River girls lacrosse team still looks like the team to beat as the girls racked up two more wins last week.
Playing on the road was not a problem as the Bears picked up convincing wins at Wasatch and Lehi.

Playing on the road was not a problem as the Bears picked up convincing wins at Wasatch and Lehi.
On Wednesday, Bear River traveled to Heber City and handled the the Wasps, 17-7. Senior Makenzie Mickelsen led the way with six goals, while Shelby Wilkinson and Jasey Larkin added four goals each. Wilkinson added six ground balls and won nine draws, while Tristin Smart defended the goal for most of the match.
Another road trip on Friday produced another dominating performance by the Bears as they defeated Lehi 16-5. Mickelsen accounted for half of Bear River’s scoring and Wilkinson chipped in four goals. Josephine Tanner owned the field with 22 ground balls.
This week, the Bears (4-0) were slated for another road match on Tuesday, this time against Corner Canyon. They will host Provo at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Bear Field in their last match before spring break.
BOYSThe boys team has faced plenty of adversity so far this season as they lost another triple-overtime contest last week.
The week started with a home match against Weber, in which the Warriors came away with a 12-7 win. Cougar Christensen led the Bears with three goals.
Bear River was home again on Friday against Lehi. The Pioneers led 5-4 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Bears outscored the visitors 3-2 in the final period to force overtime. After two scoreless overtime rounds, Lehi put home the decisive goal in the third extra period to escape with an 8-7 win.
Preston Wilkinson and Kash Avery led the Bears with two goals apiece. Carson Van Tassell and Wyatt Reeder each had two assists.
This week, the Bears (0-4) will continue to seek their first win as they headed on the road to face Northridge on Monday before a road trip to Brigham City to face Box Elder on Thursday.
