Golfers bounce back at El Monte

The Bear River boys’ golf team showed big improvement from their opening tournament two weeks ago, as the team combined to fire a 313 during a region meet at El Monte Golf Course in Ogden.
“This is the lowest team score we’ve had in many years,” head coach Rex McKee said in an e-mail. “We are excited about how we played.”
Leading the way once again was junior Jordan Rose, who fired a 76 for the second straight week. Zac Nelson finished one shot back with a 77, while Bridger Layton and Ryker Thomas each carded an 80.
