The ability to inspire young men to succeed on an athletic playing field is a gift. When this gift turns into the ability to inspire young men to succeed in life it becomes an outstanding feat.
Jesse Esquivel has been that coach and that inspiration for more than a decade for the Bear River soccer team.
In Esquivel’s career as head coach, he led Bear River to four state semi-final appearances.
After the first few years coaching, Esquivel told his players that he would stop coaching in 2004 when his team, that he had coached since they were 12, would be graduating. However, when 2004 came and went, Esquivel remained the coach.
