Tremonton cuts budget 14 percent
A 14 percent drop in funds for Tremonton City means department heads and city councilmen needed to decided what needs to be cut and what needs to be held off on. With the 2010-11 budget done, the council approved the budget and passed it with a motion.
In that budget, the council has claimed that citizens won’t see a drop in city services. They will still continue to work on roads, they will not cut jobs nor will they drop city salaries. Instead the council has decided to hold off on some capital expenditures and projects.
They will still work on the $252,000 350 North road project. They will also make upgrades to the computer network and will work with Rocky Mountain Power in reducing operation costs.
UTOPIA is still a hot issue for Tremonton City. More information and meetings will occur in the future but for now the city has been asked by UTOPIA for more funds to make the system better before they have to sell it.
