Buxton, Payne score eight in win

It wasn’t until the end of their first go around through region play that the Lady Bears won their first game.  But they did get a win.
Bear River beat Grantsville last Tuesday in their first meeting of the season.  Thursday night was a different story when the Lady Bears hosted basketball powerhouse Judge Memorial.  Bear River showed a good effort and played well offensively, but lost to the Bulldogs.
Tomorrow night will be the only game for the girls this week.  They travel to Ben Lomond in one of the most important games of this season.  Bear River will need a couple more wins to play post-season.  Coach Josh LeRoy said, “We need to beat Ben Lomond this week and Grantsville when they come here.  We can go down and beat Juan Diego, too.”
A few more wins would do wonders for this season.  The team is more confident now and feel like they can get the wins.  Sharpshooter Jessica Olsen said about playing Ben Lomond again, “We will be much improved from the last time we played them.  We’ll be ready for them.”
