Proposed landfill on hold

Although they came ready to continue the battle, opponents to a proposed landfill near the community of Hansel Valley were temporarily stalled at last week’s Box Elder County Planning Commission meeting when the petitioner, Randy Moulding, requested in writing that his application be tabled “without date.”

In a letter from Moulding’s attorney, Mike Malmborg, it stated, “My client feels that additional time is needed for him to review the issues surrounding the application and to gather further information regarding the application to present to the Planning Commission.”

That doesn’t mean the fight is over, said Hansel Valley resident Tim Munns, and the most outspoken challenger. “We’ll be here every meeting if need be,” he told the commission.
