An AARP Smart Driver course will be offered Aug. 15, beginning at 9 a.m., at the Bear River Valley Senior Center, 510 W. 1000 N., Tremonton. AARP certified instructor, Steve Hodges, will teach the class that helps older drivers become more aware of changes that occur due to aging.

Bear River Middle School will hold a Back-to-School night on Monday, Aug. 18, at 7 p.m. A short meeting will be held in the gym, then parents and students can meet their teachers in the classrooms.
Registration will be done online. The registration window is Monday, Aug. 4 through Friday, Aug. 22. Log into www.brms.besd.net and click on the registration link. Please read instructions carefully and watch the required tutorials. Those who complete the registration and pay necessary fees can pick up their student’s schedule at the BRMS office, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m., beginning Aug. 11, or at the Back-to-School night.
Parents or community members interested in serving on the community council for the upcoming year can call 257-2540, by Friday, Aug. 22. Voting ballots will be sent home Tuesday, Sept. 16. Ballots must be returned by Sept. 19.
The Eagles Lodge will hold its second annual BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) bike and car wash fundraiser. The event will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23, at 405 S. Main, Tremonton (the old Crumps parking lot), from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
McKinley Open House
McKinley Elementary School will hold an open house on Tuesday, Aug. 19, from 4-6 p.m., for all students and their families. Class lists will be posted and students will be able to meet their teachers. Parents will be able to sign up for PTA, pay lunch money and order school T-shirts.
Utah State University-Brigham City invites the public to attend a recruitment pool party on Monday, Aug. 18, from 8:30-10 p.m., at the Brigham City pool, 720 W. Forest Street. Food, fun, prizes and tuition waiver ($250) for USU-BC or USU-Tremonton classes will be available. Representatives will be on hand to answer questions.
