The annual “Beat the Librarian” contest is currently in progress. Continue reading through Sunday and then report your reading on Monday or Tuesday. Wednesday at 2 p.m., prizes will be awarded at Schuman (Library) Park.
Friday, June 13, there will be a art festival at Schuman (Library) Park.
There will be a silent auction of local artwork and families can sign up in the library and purchase sidewalk squares to do sidewalk chalk art on for the festival. All proceeds from the event go toward the purchase of children’s book bins.
This year the Garland Tabernacle is celebrating 100 years. To recognized the significance of this beautiful building, information about it and the part it has played in the lives of Garland residents is being sought.
Stories of meaningful incidents that have occurred within its walls, pictures of past baptisms, seminary graduations, activities, or historical photos from its construction and those who helped build it are needed.

Main Street Playhouse is offering a two-week Summer Theatre Camp, July 7-18. The camp will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and is open to boys and girls, 13-18.

Fielding Elementary School library will be open on Tuesday, June 24, from 10 a.m. to noon, for students and their families to check out books. Story time will be at 11 a.m.

Beginning June 6, children ages 6-14, will be able to participate in the Bear River Children’s Choir, directed by Joy Brower.

Devin Wiedman is holding a car wash at the Elwood Texaco on Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The fundraiser is part of his Eagle Scout project, a notice board for Elwood City.
A fun, colorful tote bag is the project youth will be making at the 4-H Sewing Camp on Tuesday, June 24. Youth who are not members of 4-H are also invited to participate.
The camp will be held at the Tremonton Public Works building, 300 E. 1200 S., in Tremonton, from 9 a.m. -3 p.m. Each participant needs to bring an adult helper, sewing machine, sewing equipment and fabric for the project.

The cost for the camp is $5 for 4-H members and $15 for youth not enrolled in 4-H. The registration deadline is Tuesday, June 17.

Dr. Billy Edwards, state Director of Missions for the Utah/Idaho Southern Baptist Convention, will again be the speaker at Bear River Valley Baptist Church on June 15. All are invited to attend the service held at the Bear River Valley Senior Center, 510 W.1000 N., Tremonton. Services begin at 10:30 a.m.
The Box Elder Landlord Association will hold a barbecue on Thursday, June 12, at 7 p.m., at the Reese Pioneer Park bowery in Brigham City. This event is for all landlords in Box Elder County. There will be a free dinner, games and a raffle.
