Mennonites from across the southwestern part of the country gathered Saturday and Sunday at the Box Elder County fairgrounds for a fellowship conference that included speakers and leaders of their church, as well as devotionals, singing and meals together.
Linford Landis from Tremonton is a member of the Mennonite church and helped organized the weekend events. Over 500 men, women and children gathered for the annual conference. Locally the Mennonite church includes 12 to 14 families who meet each Sunday at their church building in south Tremonton. The purpose of the meeting is to enjoy the company of other members of their faith, as well as learn more about serving God, said Landis.
“We’re just trying to serve God and to fellowship each other in our faith to God,” said Landis.
