accidentThree people were transported to Bear River Valley Hospital Memorial Day afternoon following a head-on collision at the intersection of Jensen Lane and SR-13, just north of Bear River City.  A 2004 Monte Carlo, driven by Gloria Huish, 80, Twin Falls, Idaho, was traveling westbound just before 3 p.m., and failed to yield to a 2006 Toyota Corolla, driven by Jennifer Fraser Peterson, 42, of Tremonton, at the intersection.

Peterson sustained cuts and abrasions on her upper arms and torso, while Huish suffered a leg fracture, broken ribs and possible lung damage, and was later transferred to McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden. Seatbelts and airbags prevented more serious injuries, UHP Lt. Lee Perry said.

A passenger in the Toyota, Scott Hodson, 37, of West Haven, was not wearing a seatbelt and had injuries to his legs and feet, but was protected from more significant injuries by the airbag.

SR-13 was closed down in both directions for approximately an hour while medical care was provided and the wreckage was cleared.
