Wendell Reed Burgess


Wendell Reed Burgess, 85, A wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on Saturday May 17, 2014. Wendell was born on October 13, 1928 to Benjamin Franklin and Etta Louise Holdaway Burgess in Tremonton, Utah. Wendell grew up and resided in Tremonton most of his life.

Wendell attended McKinley School and Bear River High School.

Wendell married Erladene Ashby on April 16, 1958 in the Logan Temple.

Wendell worked for J.G. Burgess Plumbing, Ewer Plumbing, Wangsguard Plumbing and was a journeyman plumber. He decided to get his contractors license and started his own business “Burgess Plumbing” in

Wendell was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was assistant scoutmaster, served in the High Priest Quorum and was a faithful home teacher.

Wendell and Erladene celebrated 56 wedding anniversaries together.

Wendell was known for always laughing and looking for the bright side of life. Wendell’s greatest love was being with his family and doing things with them. He water-skied with them and Oh how he loved to go fishing and catching those fish. He loved camping, sitting around the campfire and enjoying the great outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Erladene, two sons Ronald and Carl, one daughter Leisa (Todd) Marshall nine grandchildren Brandon, Marsha, Steven, Tad, Caylee, Wade, Cole, Chad and Sadie and 11 great grandchildren.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Melba one brother Wayne and his grandparents.

Funeral Services will be held Friday May 23rd, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the Tremonton South Stake Center 1150 S. Tremont St. A viewing will be held Thursday May 22nd, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.) and at the Stake Center from 9-10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral services.

Interment in the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.

Glenda Rawlins Cutler

Obit-Glenda Cutler

Glenda Rawlins Cutler returned to our Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 17, 2014.  She was born on April 22, 1940 to Wells Orgill and Elizabeth McMurdie Rawlins in Logan, Utah.   She was raised in Paradise, Utah and was a graduate of South Cache High School.  She married Gary Lamar Cutler on June 19, 1964.  They were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on May 5, 1984.  They made their home in Tremonton, Utah.

Glenda had a strong work ethic.  She worked at numerous jobs throughout her life which included the Sugar Factory in Garland, Utah and Thiokol in Promontory, Utah.  Glenda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Tremonton 5th ward.  Glenda held many positions but treasured her time serving the children in the Primary.  Glenda loved children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wells and Elizabeth Rawlins, parents-in-law, Lamar and Elizabeth Cutler, along with several brothers and sisters-in-law, a niece and a nephew, all of whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Lamar Cutler, 4 children; Michael(Krista) Cutler, Debra(Ernie)Mankin, Tami(Dee) Jeppson, and Corey Cutler, 8 grandchildren, 3 brothers; Wells Byron(Colleen) Rawlins, James Kay Rawlins, Grant(Maurita) Rawlins and 1 sister Shirlene Rawlins.  She is also survived by countless relatives who she loved dearly.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the qualified and gentle staff at Bear River Valley Care Center and to Dr. Rod Merrell and Dr. Duane Bohman and their clinic staff’s for their professionalism and friendship to Glenda.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton 5th Ward LDS Chapel (300 South Tremont St.), viewings will be held Wednesday, May 21, from 6-8 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.- Tremonton) as well as Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery.

    Glenda: you was so fun at the U&I sugar factory being your boss. I never knew what to expenct, you was always teasing in some way that made life fun, but one thing I did is that I could count on you for hard work. Also at Thiokol, I enjoyed your friendlyness & kindness to ward me.

    To the family of Glenda Cuttler,
    I am sad to hear of Glenda’s passing, she holds a spot in my heart. Never did I come to Tremonton and not stop in to see her. I loved our visits! I will miss her alot and may she rest in peace!
