A West Haven man was pronounced dead at Brigham City Community Hospital after he crashed his ultralight aircraft near the North Marina at Willard Bay State Park Tuesday evening.

The approximately 60-year-old man was apparently piloting his three-wheeled red and white craft between I-15 and Willard Bay when he went down near some power lines just after 5 p.m., according to James Morgan, park manager.  His descent was witnessed by someone on the freeway, who reported it to law enforcement.

The accident scene is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
