Former Tremonton officer to appear in court Monday

Jeremy Rose
Former Tremonton Police officer Jeremy Rose, a 12-year veteran and Tremonton resident, is scheduled for his initial appearance in court on Monday, April 7,  to answer to charges filed against him last June.A full report of today’s court proceedings will be in this week’s newspaper.

Rose was arrested on Friday, June 14, 2013, for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor for allegedly taking nude or partially nude photos of a female teen as well as secretly videotaping her in her bedroom.

In June, Police Chief Dave Nance received notification from the Attorney General’s Office that the Internet Task Force had information and were conducting an investigation. At the time, he said, “As you can imagine it was a shock, a disappointment all the way around. We certainly don’t want that type of publicity.”

According to reports, Rose allegedly told the teen to send nude and partially nude photos to an email address belonging to a Brazzers employee named “Tom.” But prosecutors allege the email account was a fack and created by Rose.

The probable cause statement stated Rose confessed to his wife about the alleged crimes.  She then contacted law enforcement.

Prosecutors also allege Rose had thousands of images of the teen that had been surreptitiously taken of her while she was in her bedroom after a shower or bath, using a camera hidden under a dresser.

Rose was working as patrol officer at the time of his arrest and resigned in July.
