Medusa Head     Box Elder County has a weed problem.  But it also has the means and the knowledge to fight such invasive plants as Medusahead and Rush Skeleton Weed, two of the most noxious predators.

Those efforts have not gone unnoticed.  In a recent letter to commissioners, ATK offered their thanks to a number of key players in the battle for weed control.

In the letter, signed by ATK maintenance directors and managers, it said, “We would like to thank the county for the information, time, knowledge and financial support provided to help fight this invasive weed infiltration.  Specifically we thank Bill Gilson (Road and Weed Department supervisor) and Mike Miller (weed foreman) for the time spent mapping, coordinating and facilitating the spraying of these noxious weeds.  Because of their efforts, we at ATK feel we have a firm handle on the spreading of these weeds.”

The letter went on to say that the county’s efforts to aid in the control of the weeds and the information provided by experts has helped the company prevent future spread.
