Jared Alderin Mug             A North Dakota man missed out on his Spring Break party plans in Las Vegas after he was arrested in Tremonton for possession of drugs.

Tremonton Police Chief David Nance said 20-year-old Jared Aldrein of Dickerson, N. D., was taken into custody Sunday afternoon, as police found a half-pound of marijuana in his vehicle during a routine traffic stop.

Aldrein was stopped for speeding near 700 N. 1000 W., about 4:30 p.m.  The officer noted a strong order coming from the car and odd behavior from the driver, who said he was traveling from North Dakota to Nevada.  He admitted to the officer that he had “a couple of ounces of marijuana” for “party material,” and gave permission to have his car searched.   The search netted a much larger amount, Nance said.

Aldrein was booked into the Box Elder County Jail.
