Farm Expo welcomes FFA inventors

Thursday, March 6, 2014
By theleader

For three days this week the Box Elder County fairgrounds will play host to its first ever Farm and Ranch Expo.  Thursday through Saturday, March 6-8, farmers, ranchers and anyone interested in components of the county’s main industry, agriculture, are invited to attend.

Western entertainment, speakers from a number of state departments, as well as related vendors and sponsors will be on hand to discuss agriculture.

A big draw during the event will be the FFA Future Tech Contest, which gives local chapter members a chance to showcase their own inventive ideas for the farming and ranching industry.  Two of those next-generation farmers are Harlie McKenna of Thatcher and Cody Noyes of Fielding, both members of Bear River High School’s FFA chapter.

Read more about their inventions in this week’s Leader and stop by the expo to view them, and more ideas from the local FFA group.Cody's ram harness Expo pic
