Bears win in overtime (photos)

The Bear River boys’ basketball team hosted Desert Hills in the first round of the playoffs tonight and won 53-43. It was a battle back and forth but it was the Bears who came out on top in overtime.

As the two teams shook hands after the game, a fight broke out. A Desert Hills player threw a punch at a Bear River player and administration rushed to break it up.  The Bears were sent to their locker room as Desert Hills and their fans left.

After things cooled down the Bears and fans celebrated their victory. The Bears will play in the state tournament on Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 27-March 1, at Southern Utah. They play Morgan at 2:30 p.m.
