Early Morning Burglary

An early morning burglary took place Wednesday, Feb. 19, at about 4:30. According to Garland Police Chief Linda Bourne, the owners of the home at 87 West 100 South, Garland, found two hooded burglars in their garage. Police are still investigating the situation so no further details have been released at this time.

Criston Rigby posted this alert on Facebook, “My parents were robbed last night by 2 guys. They took several items, until my dad caught them and chased them off. They had unscrewed the garage lights that were on (4 to be exact), and set stuff by the door in a pile, ready to take. They also jimmied and broke the garage door and lock. He did get a good look at one of the guys, (so beware if you were the one).”

Bourne said, “It seems like when the cold goes away and the snow melts it (burglaries) tends to start up again.”

She suggests people lock all their doors including vehicle doors, whether they are in a garage or not, and to take valuables inside the home including all garage door openers.

If you notice anything suspicious report it to the police department, 435-257-7577.
