Food Class

NUCC Breakfast
Northern Utah Chamber Coalition will have a legislative breakfast on Jan. 31, at 7 a.m., at the State Building Auditorium in Salt Lake. The general public is invited to attend.
Baptist Study
Bear River Valley Baptist Church invites all who are interested in learning more about Jesus to join them in a study of the Gospel of John.  Bear River Valley Baptist Church meets at the Tremonton Senior Center, 510 W. 100 N., each Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
Making of America
A six-week DVD course on The Making of America – The Founders’ Principles of Liberty and the Meaning of the Constitution, will be held at the Bear River Valley Museum, 11 E. Main Street, beginning Wednesday, Feb. 5 and going through March 12.  The class is from 6:30-8 p.m., and is free to the public.  For more information, contact Sue Tibbetts, 435-881-5022.
Tremonton  Library
‘Take Your Child to the Library’ Day will be Feb. 1.  Fun activities are planned throughout the day.  Teen/adult dance classes are offered Feb. 12, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at Tremonton Public Works building.  Line dances and ballroom dances will be taught.
Tickets for the annul Mad Scientist boys’ part go on sale at the library Feb. 3.  They are $2 each for boys, age 3-23.  Tickets are limited.
Garland Library
Job Search help is offered from 5-7 p.m., Wednesdays.  Stories with Torie, 4-5 p.m.
Chinese New Year
Foothill Elementary School (home of the Chinese Immersion program) will host a celebration of the Chinese New Year, The Year of the Horse, on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Box Elder High School.  Dinner and activities run from 5-7 p.m.  Dinner tickets are available at Foothill Elementary, 435-734-4916.  Pre-paid tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children.  At the door, they are $8 and $6.  There will also be free Chinese crafts, games, stories, fireworks and entertainment.  This event is also sponsored by Hunan Village Chinese Restaurant.
Family History
The Tremonton-Garland Family History Center is offering several classes this spring.  They include:  Advanced Family Tree – Tuesdays, 10-11:30 a.m., beginning Feb. 4, or Fridays, 6:30-8 p.m., beginning Feb. 7; Beginning Family Tree, Tuesday, 6-7:30 p.m., or Wednesday, 2-3 p.m., beginning Feb. 12.  A Roots Magic class will be held on Fridays from 10-11:30 a.m., beginning Jan. 31.  To sign up, call 257-0763 or 452-1185.
Lincoln Day Dinner
The Box Elder County Republicans’ Lincoln Day Dinner is planned for Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Box Elder County fairgrounds, 320 N. 1000 W., Tremonton.  The reception begins at 6 p.m., with dinner at 6:30.  Cost is $25 per person or $45 per couple, payable at the door.  Keynote speaker will be Jonathan Johnson, executive vice chairman of Overstock.com.  Please RSVP by Jan. 26, to boxelderrepublicans@gmail.com
