Bothwell home destroyed in fire

A Bothwell home was completely destroyed in an early morning fire Wednesday.  The sole resident of the home, Sandra Hood, 62,  was able to get out and call for help at a neighbor’s , but the home at 12695 N. 10800 W. was fully engulfed when fire crews from Thatcher and Tremonton arrived on scene just after 3:30 a.m.  The lack of fire hydrants in the area made it difficult to fight the fire, said Thatcher fire chief Alan Heiner. Central Box Elder Fire District was also call to bring in a tanker to supply additional water. The fire  started in the garage and spread through the rest of the home, said County Fire Marshal Corey Barton, but the exact cause is under investigation.   The homeowner suffered some smoke inhalation and was transported to Bear River Valley Hospital as a precautionary measure.  Estimated loss is approximately $175,000.
