Luella Ruth Romer


Luella Ruth Romer, was born December 2, 1915 in Elwood Utah, to Carl Theodore Romer and Valborg Franzine Nelson.  She passed away November 17, 2013 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Luella was raised on the farm learning the value of hard work and responsibility.  She graduated from Bear River High School and furthered her education at Stevens Henagar College.  She worked at Ketchum’s Building Supply her entire working career.  She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Luella was a loving, hardworking caregiver all of her life, caring for many loved ones, including her mother and sisters.  She loved to read and correspond with cards to family and friends.

Loved ones remember Luella as being thoughtful, down to earth, and as someone who had common sense, and wisdom.

Luella was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Frances Andrea Peterson, Carl Odell Romer, Elma Arlene Larsen, Anna Leola Christensen Goodey and Joyce Hansen.  She is survived by one nephew Del Royce Romer, and two nieces Carla Romer and Rose Ann Hughes.

Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.

Ryker Wade Mattinson


Thatcher- Ryker Wade Mattinson passed away on November 17, 2013 at Primary Children’s Medical Center. Ryker was born on September 20, 2009 at Logan Regional Hospital to Kyle & Corinne Mattinson.

Ryker loved anything and everything about the outdoors. He loved to be outside and go camping, ride 4-wheelers, ride horses and play with his brother Tyke.

Ryker is survived by his Dad, Mom and Tyke.

He is preceded in death by his Grandmother Balinda.

Thanks to all our family and friends for your love & support. Thank you to all the amazing staff at Primary Children’s Medical Center, You have such big hearts and are a special group of people.

A visitation for Ryker will be held on Thursday November 21, 2013 at 10-11:30 a.m. at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E). Following the visitation if weather permits a graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon at the Penrose Cemetery (8425 N 11600 W Penrose, UT). If inclement weather, the services will be held at the Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home.

Delores DeLone Larsen Steed


Delores DeLone Larsen Steed, 85, passed away Nov. 12, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Pendleton, Oregon.  She was born June 7, 1928, in Logan, Utah the daughter of Guy and Delone Smith Larsen.

She married John Harvey Hobson on Nov. 23, 1946 in Malad, Idaho.  He preceded her in death in a farm accident.

On Sept. 20, 1963, she married Dee Vern Steed in Malad, Idaho.  Their marriage was solemnized Feb. 17, 1964 in the Logan Utah Temple.  He also preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She served in the Relief Society and was involved with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers for over thirty years.  She helped organize a Pioneer Marker in Weston Canyon.

She loved genealogy and scrapbooking.  She enjoyed canning and horse backing.  In her younger years she loved sheep and 4H.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by three sons and one daughter, Kerby (Val) Steed of Vernal, Utah; Kelly (Brenna) Steed of Casper, Wyoming; Steven (Machele) Steed of Newton, Utah; Brenda (Chris) Christensen of Pendleton, Oregon; by ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands and by a brother, Noel Larsen.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Preston South Stake Center, 55 E. 1st S., Preston, Idaho with Bishop Quinn Corbridge conducting.  Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 8th East, Preston, Idaho and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the stake center.

Interment will be in the Garland, Utah Cemetery.
