Crystal Springs accident

A utility truck rammed the  backend of a passenger car on Hwy 38, near Crystal Hot Springs Friday afternoon, sending three to the hospital with neck injuries.

The accident happened about 3 p.m. near milepost 38.  A 1998 Frieghtliner roofing truck was traveling northbound when it struck the back right corner of a 2013 Toyota Camry that had slowed to turn into the resort.  The driver of the truck swerved right and sent his vehicle up the hillside, nearly rolling it. The driver of the truck, Zeb Atkinson, 28, of Clarkston, Utah, was uninjured.

The occupants of the Camry included the driver, Denise Mecham, 23, of West Valley, and four other passengers, all young women on a church outing.  Three of those passengers were transported to Brigham City Community Hospital with whip lash related injuries.  Those not transported were released to other church leaders.
