Oct. 21-26 will definitely be RED LETTER days at Bear River High School as they prepare for Homecoming Week. Theme this year is “It’s Time” and that means time to have fun, promote school spirit and involve the entire community in painting the town red and white.
Kicking off the week will be ‘Merican Monday on Oct. 21, with 4-Square fun at lunch and club painting after school.
The following day is deemed Twinner Tuesday, with sack races to liven up lunch and a Powder Tuff Volleyball game after school.
Next, it’s time to drag out those boots and wide brimmed bonnets for Western Wednesday. Hula Hoops will go the rounds during lunch break and the Powder Puff Football game will add to the afterschool excitement.
Tropical Thursday will lend a touch of the islands, while the popular pie-eating contest will spice up lunchtime. Students will roll out the RED carpet for movies after school.
Friday is GAME DAY and that mean RED and WHITE Spirit Day. A Dance Off should tune up lunch, followed by an assembly at 1 p.m. Afterschool activities will keep students on the go, as the motorcade gets underway at 4 p.m. (Participants should gather at the fairgrounds), The FFA tailgate party kicks off the night fun at 5:30, followed by the student chalk fight at 6 p.m.
It’s football at 7 p.m., as the Bear River Bears take on Uintah.
The week winds down on Saturday, with the Homecoming Dance at 8 p.m.
It is a full week of fun and excitement, so come on Bear fans – It’s Time to Growl!
