The Bear River football team hosted Ben Lomond today and won 46-7. The Bears will now prepare for Uintah, a week from Friday during homecoming week.
The Bears got on the scoreboard early, after the Scots’ punter fumbled the snap in the end zone, resulting in a safety, 2-0. The Bears gained possession and Jeremie Selman eventually ran in for a touchdown. The Bears then faked an extra point to go for the two point conversion but failed. The score was 8-0.
Taylor Lund was the next Bear to score a touchdown, the extra point was good and the Bears led 15-0. The Bears then got a field goal, extending their lead 18-0. Parker Lewis got the last touchdown of the half and the two point try was no good. The Bears were 24-0 headed into halftime.
Jeremie Selman ran for another touchdown early in the third quarter and the two point conversion was good. The Bears had a commanding lead, 32-0, and second string was brought in to prove what they could do.
Kelton Williams scored a touchdown in the third adding to their lead, 39-0. Ben Lomond finally had a chance to get on the scoreboard with a field goal attempt. The Scots had the distance but the kick was not on frame and they remained scoreless. Shortly after, the Scots got another field goal attempt but missed.
Finally, in the fourth quarter the Scots put seven points on the board making it a 39-7 game. Bridger Beus was the final Bear to score a touchdown and the extra point was good. The Bears claimed victory, 46-7.
