The Bear River girls’ tennis team had a busy week, hosting Ben Lomond last Wednesday and defeating them 3-2. They ended the week with a second place finish at a two-day tournament in St. George.
The girls hosted Tooele yesterday and will now head to Stansbury on Thursday, Sept. 26.
Cherokie Limb (first singles) lost her match against Ben Lomond 6-3 in both sets, but played to close scores. Rhylie Westarp (second singles) played a heartbreaking match with three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 3-6. Coach Nancy Brough said the score was close and Westarp put together a great performance.
Darcy Pali (third singles) dominated the court with ending scores of 6-2, 6-0. Along with Pali, the doubles players didn’t have any trouble beating their opponents as Shantel Wakley and Sydney Nicholas (first doubles) won in a tiebreaker, 7-4, 6-3.
