A man working on the air conditioning unit at Promontory’s Autoliv sustained burns to approximately 30 percent of his body in a fire Sunday morning.

According to the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office, the 29-year-old man, an outside contractor from Tooele County, was on the roof of the plant just before 10:30 a.m., when a fire broke out, the cause of which is unknown at this time.

He sustained burns to his arms and face and was taken by Lifeflight to a Salt Lake area hospital.  Those injuries are not expected to be life threatening.
