Bear River Valley Bible Study and Fellowship, sponsored by the Southern Baptist Convention, meets Sunday mornings from 10:30 a.m. to noon, at the Bear River Valley Senior Center, 510 W. 1000 N., Tremonton. You can use the Mango Language program to learn any of 57 languages free of charge if you have a Garland Public Library card. There are ESL classes for those speaking any one of 18 different languages.
If you don’t reside in Garland, come in and sign up for a price of $10 per family per year.
September is the Tremonton Library’s annual Food for Fines month. Bring canned foods into the library to be donated to the food pantry and a dollar’s worth of fines per can of food received will be removed. Please, make sure no cans are dented or expired.
Several authors are coming to the library: Sept. 19, Chad Morris; Sept. 21, Miley Brooks, Julie Caldwell, Shantel Hiatt, Jordan McCullum, J.R. Simmons, Donna K. Weaver, Wendy Knight and Angela Corbett; and Sept. 25, Clair Poulson.
On Sept. 19, the library will be having a MANGO language program, “Talk like a Pirate” day. There will be pirate craft activities for the children. The teen advisory board will be meeting on Sept. 17, to put together buttons for the event.
Local author Heather Frost of Garland, will be at Feldman’s on Friday, Sept. 13, from 3 – 6 p.m. to sign her new book, “The Guardians,” which is book three of the Seers trilogy.
BE Retired School Employee Picnic
It’s picnic time again for the Box Elder Retired School employees. It will be held on Monday, Sept. 23, at Marble Park. A Dutch oven dinner will be available for $10/person.
