Vicki Rhodes is living her dream. She gets to stay in the Bear River Valley, a place she loves and grew up in, she owns her own business and has the opportunity to teach children art.
Rhodes owns Feather Your Nest in Tremonton, a fun place to shop and take art classes, as well as see the fun and unique trinkets and gifts she sells. Zoned for businesses use, the converted home has gone through a huge renovation to make it a business. The inside of the building that was once a home has been turned into a boutique and the work outside has been a totally different experience.
“I come every day at six in the morning because there’s so much to do (in the yard),” said Rhodes. “It needed a lot of work.”
She purchased the building five years ago and has been in business for four years. Before she opened Feather Your Nest, she traveled around the world working for an art supply business. She’s learned a lot from her years on the road and appreciates the quiet life in Tremonton.
“It’s been an adventure. I’ve learned a lot,” she said.
They’ve essentially tore out the entire front yard and started from scratch. It was an older yard that had overgrown weeds and needed a little tender loving care.
