Wheat & Beet Days offers continuous fun
You don’t want to miss this year’s Wheat and Beet Days in Garland, July 29 – Aug. 3.
Again this year on Friday night is the Battle of the Bands. All aspiring band groups are encouraged to participate, as well as solo numbers. Groups will perform two family friendly numbers. Judges will be awarding prizes.

Also for the second year a Saturday night Street dance will be held in front of the Garland Library. Everyone is invited.
There will be a bicycle parade and kid races on Friday night, along with several free activity booths for the youngsters, besides a bounce house and climbing wall.
The Children’s Theatre will be Monday through Wednesday, performing “Return of the Glass Slipper.” This year the movie in the park is “Hotel Transylvania” Friday night.
Of course, it wouldn’t be Wheat and Beet Days without the Miss Bear River Valley pageant and the big firemen’s water fight.
There is an art show and quilt show on Saturday at the Garland Tabernacle. Any form of art is welcome. All art entries need to be taken to the Tabernacle cultural hall Friday, Aug. 2, between 5-8 p.m. People’ Choice awards will be given. For information, call Merlene, 801-405-7879.
