This isn’t the first time Cody Hess has been a recipient of the Green Arrow Award. In fact, he won it in 1995 for his yard in Garland the first year the Leader presented it.
Now, 17 years later, Cody is joined by wife, Julie and son Cade, and a whole new yard, this time in Honeyville.
Cody and Julie’s sense of gardening may be called a natural talent. They just know what looks good and what will grow well and what will not. They still have a few challenges in their yard, but for the most part, their one-acre piece of property is completed to perfection.
“It’s just been a work in progress,” Cody said. “It takes work, but it’s nice when you can sit and relax and enjoy it.”
“I like to plant flowers in pots and containers and Cade and I go on adventures and bring back cool rocks, cool pieces of wood and rusty things,” Julie said.
