Former Bear River 3A softball MVP Josi Summers is continuing her success beyond high school and is breaking records as she goes along.
For the past three years Summers has attended Utah Valley University where she redshirted her sophomore year due to an injury. However, she dominated the mound her freshman and junior years for the Wolverines’ softball team.
This year this right-handed pitcher set a single game UVU record with 13 strikeouts in eight innings last April against Weber State. She held the previous record of 11 strikeouts. Her freshman year she was named Great West Conference Newcomer of the Year, First Team All-GWV, Second Team All-PCSC and was a four time conference Pitcher of the Week. She pitched two shutouts that year as well.
