The American Legion competitive baseball season is in full swing this summer under the direction of Bear River High head coach Donald Hawes and his coaching staff. These competitive teams allow high school age athletes, as well as up and coming freshmen, to fine-tune their skills.
The American Legion league, which has been around for more than 15 years, kicked off its season in June and will continue until the state tournament the first week of August.
“This allows them (the players) to play multiple sports. They are still able to work with their other coaches during the summer and work on getting their programs better,” Hawes said.
