Howell Days
Celebration
The Howell Days celebration will be held Thursday-Saturday, July 11-13. The event kicks off with team branding on July 11, at 6 p.m., at the Rinderknecht arena. On July 12, a youth rodeo begins at 6 p.m., followed by a dance at the community center at 9 p.m.
Saturday starts with a breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by activities throughout the day. A flag ceremony gets underway at 11 a.m., with dinner at 5 p.m., and fireworks at 10 p.m.

Wheat and Beet Run-Walk
The 15th annual Garland public Library Wheat and Beet–Hit the Street 10K run-5K run-2 Mile Walk -1Mile Kids Run will be held Saturday, Aug. 3, at 7 a.m.  Pre-register online at www.garlandlibrary.org or www.garlandutah.org, by July 12, for the discount price and the shirt.  Registrations can also be picked up at the library or city offices.

Support Group
LDS Family Services sponsors a pornography addiction support group each Wednesday, at 7:30 p.m., at the Tremonton Jr. Seminary.  There is no cost.  Dress is casual.  Call 435-752-5302 for more information.

Walk Against
Suicide
The Northern Box Elder County Suicide Prevention Coalition will host a walk to prevent suicide Friday, July 19, at Jennie Stevens Park.  Registration will start at 8 p.m., by the stage.  The walk begins at 8:30.  There is no cost to this event.

McKinley
Elections
McKinley Elementary School will hold elections for three (two-year term) open slots on the school community council. Voting takes place Tuesday, Aug. 20, from 3–6 p.m. The school community council meets monthly to discuss school-wide issues and determine school policies. They also oversee the implementation and evaluation of the annual school improvement plan. If interested, contact Steve Chadaz at steve.chadaz@besd.net with name and a brief bio by Friday, July 19.

Job Search help, Wednesdays, 5-7 p.m., Stories with Torie, 4-5 p.m., Thursdays.  Under the Earth is this week’s topic.
Teen Party, Thursday, 5:30 p.m., Zombie Day topic is Shark Attack.  Teen movie at 6 p.m., “The Host.”
Teen Makeup Club 5:30 p.m.  Cosmetologist will wax eyebrows.  Parent’s consent form needed.
Governor’s 2013 Summer Reading Challenge outline is available at the library.

Fielding Fun Day
Fielding Town will hold its annual Fun Day celebration on Saturday, July 13.  The 5K Run will begin at 7 a.m., and is free to the public.  Sign up at the Fielding post office.
A free breakfast will be served by the town council from 8-10 a.m., followed by the parade at 10.  Games for kids 0-11 are from 10:30 a.m. to noon, and water games will be offered from 1-3 p.m.  Baked goods will be sold from 11 a.m. to noon.
Lunch will be served from noon -2 p.m., and the Fielding Fire Department fundraiser dinner will available from 6-8 p.m.
Fireworks after dark will finish out the day.
