Utah Highway Patrol responded to a rollover on I-15 at mile marker 352 on Wednesday night, June 19, at about 11:15 p.m. According to UHP Trooper Doug Christensen the driver of a Mazda 5, Gary Hatch, 48, of Kaysville, was headed northbound in the fast lane. As he changed lanes the vehicle rolled and he was ejected during the crash. The vehicle came to a rest on the driver’s side. The cause of the accident is still under investigation. However, Christensen said it appears it may have been a tire failure. The spare tire on his vehicle may have been flat, causing the Mazda to veer right and roll. When crews arrived on scene he was unresponsive and was Lifeflighted to Ogden Region Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time but Christensen thinks he will make a full recovery.
