ATV accident results in broken ribs

On Thursday, June 13, at about 3 p.m., an eight year old and a five year old were injured while riding an ATV in a pasture near 10000 West in Bothwell. According to Sheriff Lynn Yeates of the Sheriffs department, the eight year old, who was driving, was ejected and sustained three cracked ribs. The ATV rolled over the five year old. He sustained three broken ribs and several more were fractured. He may also have had a punctured lung. The children were taken to a doctor’s office by a privately owned vehicle where they were treated and transferred to the Bear River Valley Hospital for treatment. The five year old was then transferred to Primary Children’s Hospital. The sheriff’s department responded to the doctor’s office and Bear River Valley Hospital. Neither child was wearing a helmet.
