A 19-year-old Tremonton woman suffered serious injuries in a rollover on I-15 today, May 31.
According to Lt. Lee Perry of the Utah Highway Patrol, the woman was traveling southbound at milepost 370 about noon in a Chevy Trailblazer. She approached a slower moving GMC Yukon from behind. Both vehicles were in the fast lane.
The driver of the Trailblazer moved to the right lane (slow lane) to pass and then drifted back into the Yukon.
The contact caused the Yukon to swerve into the median, while the Trailblazer left the freeway to the right, rolling off the shoulder.
The driver of the Yukon and a child passenger were both wearing seatbelts and were uninjured. The Trailblazer driver was not in a seatbelt and was transported to Brigham City Community Hospital and then airlifted to an Ogden hospital.
Traffic was down to one lane for approximately and hour and a half as investigators check the crash site and crews cleaned up debris.
