McKinley Elementary School presented its annual school play on April 25-26. This year’s production was the “The Wizard of Oz.” Over 80 students were involved with the play.
Starring as Dorothy was Ashley Roberts. Other cast members were Ada Sorensen as Aunt Em, T.J. Russell as Uncle Henry, Kambree Adams as the Good Witch, Mattie Jones as Scarecrow, Eli Burrell as Tin Woodsman and Bracken Bjorn as Cowardly Lion.
Taking on the part of the Wizard was Adam Hales, with Jenna Park as the Wicked Witch and Peri Maynard as the Good Witch. Dalton Southwick played the role of the General.
Many parents and grandparents helped with costume pieces and Phil Zobell assisted with the sound system. The PTA also offered support
Said Principal Steve Chadez, “As usual, the play was a great success and a great opportunity for students to have success in the arts. Many community members came to the performances and offered kudos to all involved.”
Directors of the school play were Nedra Bingham and Kim Detwiler. Janet Morton was the accompanist and Shea Sederholm was the choreographer.
