Police seek armed robbery suspect

Greg Madson, Leader Publisher

About 2 p.m. Friday a Caucasian male entered the Kwik Mart on East Main in Tremonton and pulled off an armed robbery.

The man, described as being thin, about 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, thin, wearing dark skinny jeans, a mask and gloves, brandished a gun and demanded cash. The clerk pressed the store’s emergency alarm and stalled, hoping for another customer to walk in.

The robber demanded the clerk put the money in a black backpack and made off with about $400. He ran towards the storage bays south and west of the Kwik Mart. Tremonton Police arrived about 5-7 minutes after the alert was triggered but the suspect was gone by then.

No one was hurt and the gun was not discharged during the robbery.

Tremonton Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the robber. They think he may be local because he knew there was only one clerk on duty and headed to a heavily wooded area to escape.

If you have any information you are encouraged to contact any Tremonton Police officer or call 435-257-9555.
