A 26-year-old Logan biker suffered a bruised lung and severe road rash after he was struck by a car on SR-91 near the 200 S. exit outside of Brigham City.
Brigham City Police Lt. Dennis Vincent said the man was headed down the canyon on the right side of the shoulder line just before 2 p.m., when a 1994 Honda, driven by a 18-year-old Spanish Fork woman, veered off the road directly toward the man, sending him to the roadway. The woman told police she planned to change lanes and turned to check her blind spot when the front of the car struck the biker.
Vincent said the man’s helmet was cracked, but the fact he was wearing one, likely saved him from more serious injury. He was transported to the Brigham City Community Hospital in stable condition.
The female driver was charged with Failure to Maintain Lane of Travel.
