Your Money
It’s Your Money is an eight hour financial management course designed to help families learn to work through family financial disagreements, set goals, develop a budget, manage important financial papers, use credit wisely and be wise consumers.
This USU Extension series will be held on March 12, 19, 26 and April 2, from 6:30-8:30 p.m., in Room 38 of the Box Elder County Courthouse, 1 South Main, Brigham City.  Couples are encouraged to attend together.  To register online go to www.uidan.org.  For more information about the class contact Ann Henderson, USU Extension, at 435-695-2542, 877-390-2326, or ann.henderson@usu.edu
Mellen-Glass-2x2Rabies Clinic
Tremonton City will hold its annual rabies and dog licensing clinic on Saturday, March 16, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Tremonton Public Works building, 300 E. 1200 S.
Dog licenses are $10 if spayed or neutered, with proof required.  Cost is $30 for unaltered animals.
Bear River Animal Hospital will also be providing dog and cat rabies vaccines at $10 per shot. Also available are feline leukemia shots, parvo and distemper.

District Round-ups
Box Elder School District will be holding Kindergarten Round-Ups this month.
Screenings and assessments for Willard, Mountain View, Lake View, Discovery, Foothill and Century elementary schools will be held on March 11-13. at Utah State University-Brigham City campus.  McKinley, North Park and Garland elementary schools will hold their screenings on March 19 and 21 at the USU-Tremonton campus.  Fielding Elementary will hold Kindergarten Roundup on March 20, at that school.
Parents/guardians of kindergarten-age children for the upcoming 2013-2014 school year should schedule an appointment through the elementary school their child/children will be attending.  Birth certificates and immunization records are required for kindergarten enrollment.
4-H Happenings
All ninth-twelfth graders are invited to join the 4-H Teen Council.  The council meets monthly, with the main purpose being to serve the community and learn leadership skills.  The group also holds social activities during the year.  Contact the 4-H office, 435-695-2543, if interested.
A 4-H photography class will run March 14, 21 and 28, from 3:30-5:30 p.m.  This class is from third through eighth graders.  The cost is $5 for 4-H members and $10 for non-members.  Registration is due March 7.
A Mock Legislature is scheduled for April 16, for ninth through twelfth graders at the Utah State Capital building.  Cost is $15, with registration due by March 15.

Tremonton Library
An adult activity about emergency preparedness is set for Thursday, March 7, at 6:30 p.m., at the Tremonton Library. Teen Tech Week will be March 11-15. On Wednesday, March 13, from 4-7 p.m., will be a teen Downloadable Day.  Teens can come with their mobile devices and get  help downloading free ebooks and eaudiobooks.


North Park Kindergarten
North Park Elementary School will hold a “Getting to Know You” day for future kindergarten students on Thursday, March 14, at 1 p.m.  Children who will be five years old before Sept. 1, 2013, are invited to attend a fun activity, while their parents fill out registration forms.  Immunization records and birth certificates are required.

Senior Center Help
The Bear River Valley Senior Center, 510 W. 1000 N., is offering free tax help with Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) on Fridays from 3-6:30 p.m.  No appointments are necessary.
On Wednesdays, from noon to 4 p.m., there is free tax help with AARP for residents 60 or older.  Call 435-257-9455 for an appointment and for more information.
Garland  at McDonalds
Garland Elementary School will hold its Teacher Night at McDonalds on Wednesday, March 6, from 5-8 p.m. The school will receive a percentage of all sales made that night. The funds raised will be used to provide computer resources and math intervention programs at the school.
Pence at Museum
Time is running out to see the art display of Kevin Pence at the Bear River Valley Museum.  A final open house to view his work is scheduled for Friday, March 8, from 3-5 p.m.  The public is invited to attend.
