Tremonton man charged with rape
A 20-year-old Tremonton man, Brandon Larson, has been formally charged with rape of a child in an incident that took place Jan. 20, at his apartment. According to Tremonton Police Chief Dave Nance, the female was a 13-year-old from the Tremonton/Thatcher area. She had gone to his apartment because the two were acquaintances. She told police that while she was there, he forced her to have had sex with him. He then kept her inside his apartment against her will for almost an hour. When she returned home, she told a family member and they reported the incident to the police. She was taken to the hospital for examination. Larson was questioned following the incident and denied that it had happened. The day after being interviewed, he was arrested for parole violation. He was on parole for a previous conviction of aggravated assault with a weapon. He was held until the DNA testing results were made available, implicating Larson. On Feb. 21, Larson was formally charged. He is also charged with aggravated sexual abuse of a child, sexual abuse of child and aggravated kidnapping.
