Processing plant still a possibility

Even though opinions seem to be divided, a meat processing plant setting up shop in the old La-Z-Boy building may still be a possibility.
Being called Project Sam, a central California company has expressed interest in using the empty 600,000 square foot building as a hog harvesting and processing expansion site for their fresh market product.
Tremonton City council members recently voiced differing viewpoints on the company coming into the area. To answer questions and alleviate some concerns, Councilman Lyle Holmgren, along with Tremonton Public Works Director Paul Fulgam and Box Elder County Economic Development Director Mitch Zundel, traveled to California to get a look – and a sniff – at what the company has to offer. Traveling with the group was Brad Baird of Economic Development Corporation of Utah.
