Wrestling updates – Bingham and Stevenson in title matches

Championship bracket results

Bingham advances to title match! Nickolas Bingham defeated Mason Colledge of Spanish Fork 13-5 and now will wrestle Delta’s Jose Garcia for the championship of the 113 lb. weight class.

BroDee Stevenson advances to title match!  Stevenson defeated Wes Kauvaka of Pine View 2-1. He advances to the championship match tonight against Cole Mair of Uintah.

Kunder falls at 126. Dominic Kunder fell to Dusty Hone of Cedar City by pinfall at the 1:55 mark. He now faces Logan Stewart of Stansbury in the consolation round. Kunder pinned Stewart at the 3:37 mark and then lost to Robert Miner of Wasatch 4-3 for fourth place.

In the consolation round, at 132, Tanner Vanvalkenburg defeated Hagen Loveless of Payson, 2-0, to move into the 3rd/4th bout. He ended up losing to Garrett Sweat of Wasatch 12-1 for fourth place.

At 145, Toby Haltiner lost to Lucas Batin of Dixie by pin at the 2:54 mark. R. Jay Christensen at 152 lost to Dakota Labrum of Uintah 8-0.  At 170, Brett Smart fell to Aaron ‘eli Hanson of Canyon View 102. Also at 170, Conner Hughes fell to Kale Leavitt of Delta 7-1.

At 182, Chad Hornberger beat Hamblin of Union 4-2 to advance to face Taris Schramm of Payson. He ended up losing to Schramm, who would end up taking third, 17-10.

At 195, Kyle Petersen was pinned by Cameron Williamson of Cedar City.  At 220, Justis Wise lost to Derek Johnson of Payson by pin at the 3:31 mark. Juan Artega wrestled Ronnie Hill of Stansbury, winning by pin at the 4:04 mark. He then lost to Morgan’s Thomas Ericson, 1-0.
