Cowboy Sweetheart Dance

An after-Valentines Cowboy Sweetheart Dance is planned for Saturday, Feb. 16, from 7-11 p.m., in the Box Elder County Fairgrounds auction barn.  Live listening and dancing music will be provided by the group, Saddle Strings.  Admission is $5.  This will be a fun night out for the entire family.

Tremonton Library

The Tremonton Library has several activities planned for the month of February.  Story Hour is every Friday at 10 a.m.

The second annual party for boys, “Superheros,” is set for Saturday, Feb. 23, at 4 p.m., at the Bear River Valley Senior Center.    Tickets are $2 and can be purchased at the library, beginning Feb. 11.  Space is limited.

Food Drive

The Tremonton Food Pantry is in need and a food drive is under way to help.  Donate food items or money at Groll’s Family Fitness, Monday-Thursday, 5:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m., Friday, 5:30 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday, 8-10 a.m., through Feb. 28.  Help others be healthier this year.

Orientation Fair

All current fifth grade students and their parents are invited to visit Harris Intermediate School for the annual Orientation Fair, Thursday, Feb. 21.  A short general meeting will be held in the gym at 5:30 p.m., to learn basic information about the school and classes offered to sixth graders.

Garden Workshop

Bear River Country Store, 2780 N. 4800 W., in Corinne is offering a Do It Yourself Lawn and Garden workshop on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 10 a.m.  Bear River Valley Co-op fielding men Kory Tomkinson and Brackan Davis will discuss chemicals and fertilizers.  Bruce Betterridge of Hi-Yield will discuss tree and shrub trimming.  Handouts will be provided.  Those attending are asked to RSVP by calling 744-2211. Refreshments and prizes will be available.


McKinley Elementary will be having a fundraiser at McDonalds on Tuesday, Feb. 26, and Wednesday, Feb. 27, from 5-8 p.m., with 20 percent of all sales made during those times going directly to the school.  Parents and students are encouraged to support this event by enjoying an evening at McDonalds.

Symphonic Fundraiser

Lake Bonneville Symphonic Society is holding its fourth annual Gala Fundraiser Dinner and Silent Auction on March 2, at 6 p.m., at the Brigham City Community Center, 34 N. 300 W., Brigham City.  The dinner tickets are $15 a plate and will be catered by Iron Street Grille.  Heavily involved this year are the Lincoln Youth Symphony and Lincoln Youth Chamber Orchestra.  For tickets, contact a member of the board, any member of the youth symphony or orchestra or send a request to LincolnYouthSymphony@gmail.com.  Call 435-723-8262 or 435-740-4335 for tickets or to make a donation to the silent auction.

Community Giver

Box Elder Credit Union is sponsoring a semiannual Community Giver Award, recognizing individuals whose service and selfless giving haves a positive difference in the county.  The recipient of the award will receive $500 from Box Elder Credit Union to be donated to a charity of their choice.  Any person living in the county is eligible.

Applications for nominations are available online at www.boxeldercu.com.  Just click on the Community Giver Award link and complete, or print out the application and mail to Tonya Gail – Community Giver Award, c/o Box Elder Credit Union, 1023 Medical Drive, Brigham City, Utah 84302.

The first Community Giver Award will be presented in April.
