Cherishing life’s simple pleasures

                  Although Ferris and Arlene Macfarlane grew up only a few miles from one another they did not begin dating until Arlene was 16 years old. In December, following graduation, they were married and have spent the past 63 years building their relationship and a family in Riverside.

Ferris grew up in Riverside while Arlene grew up just down the road in Fielding. The first time they really got acquainted was when they were crowned king and queen of the ward Green and Gold Ball. Arlene said, “That was one of our first dates. He was a tall and handsome guy.”
