For the third-straight season, the Bear River wrestlers held up the Region 11 Championship trophy after another convincing victory. In front of spirited fans at Bear River Memorial Gym, Bear River amassed 575.5 points as a team to capture the tournament as nearly every statistical category was dominated by the Bears.
Tooele edged Stansbury for second-place, followed by Morgan, Grantsville, Ogden and Ben Lomond, respectively. Individually, the Bears also dominated as they sent at least one wrestler to the championship match in 13 of the 14 weights.
In the end, the Bears had nine wrestlers stand at the top spot on the podium while they had 27 wrestlers place in the top-eight of their weight class.
Region champions included Nick Bingham (113), Brady Haramoto (120), Dominic Kunder (126), Tanner Vanvalkenburg (132), Tanner Christensen (145), R. Jay Christensen (152), Kyle Peterson (195), Tony Carreno (220) and BroDee Stevenson (285).
