Tueller heads to Special Olympics
UHP officer to tote torch in Korea
Mike Tueller of Tremonton has been selected to represent Utah Highway Patrol and the Utah Law Enforcement Torch Run committee in the final leg of the Special Olympics Torch Run in South Korea in January.
Tueller will leave Utah on Jan. 20, and join other law enforcement officers and Special Olympics athletes as they carry the torch in the final run through South Korea and into the opening ceremonies of the 2013 Special Olympics World Winter Games, being held in PyeongChang.
Tueller also plans to participate in the Polar Plunge following the torch run to help raise money for Special Olympics. Half of the funds raised will be returned to Utah program.
Tueller hopes to raise $2,500 during the Polar Plunge and is seeking support from the local area. To help him in his quest, go to www.letr-finalleg.org and click on the Polar Plunge link at the top of the page. Then click the Sponsor a Runner link. Donations can also be given directly to Mike or Marilee Tueller, who will then make the donation.
