BC home damaged in fire

A basement fire in Brigham City that sent two people to the hospital is still under investigation, according to Jim Buchanan, Emergency Services manager.  The fire was reported just after 10:30 p.m., Monday night, Jan. 7, at 133 W. 600 N., with the concern that two people may be inside the home.  Fire crews from Brigham City were joined by the Corinne Fire Department and together were able to extinguish the blaze in the smoke-filled home.  A husband and wife were both transported by ambulance to Brigham City Community Hospital where they were treated for smoke inhalation.  An 18-year-old female, reported to also be in the house, could not located, Buchanan said.  Oxygen therapy was also administered to a kitten found in the home.

Investigators were on scene Tuesday morning, but have yet to determine the cause of the fire or the total dollar amount of damage, Buchanan said.
